Our School Vision

'Building Futures Shaped by Faith, Knowledge and Love'

Our children, staff, parents and community here at Denby First School embody our school vision each day.

We have many ways in which we build the futures of pupils and adults in their faith, knowledge and love.

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden          plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” – Matthew 13:31-32

Our Aims at Denby

To provide each child with opportunities where they are challenged to achieve their full potential, build confidence and independence to shape their own future.

To hold the Christian ethos of care and concern for one another at the core of life and learning at Denby.

To recognise that each child is a unique individual, possessing talents, abilities, goals and dreams.

To ensure that our children feel safe and happy in an exciting, nurturing and challenging environment.

To foster strong relationships between the school, home and the wider community

Our School Federation - Green Hills First Federation

We are proud to be part of the Green Hills Federation. This is a small school federation which incorporates Denby First School, Farnley Tyas First School and Thurstonland First School. We have a shared curriculum and some shared staff. Our new shared curriculum allows our staff to plan and work together to support one another and plan and monitor our curriculum offer in an effective way. We feel that our staff are stronger when they work in partnership with others. These opportunities allow our staff to grow and develop and in doing so our children flourish too. We enjoy joint trips, visits and residentials alongside our federation friends and partners. Our federation vision is 'Small schools working stronger together'.
