Denby C.E. (V.A) First School

Data comparisons for Denby Cof E (VA) First School

Data in small schools should always be treated with extreme caution. Some cohorts of children can be very small and therefore each child compares as a large percentage. As we know children vary greatly and cohorts of children in school vary greatly. It can be very misleading to compare data year on year.

However we are very proud of the achievements of the children in Denby School. They make excellent progress year on year due to excellent teaching, nurture and individual support delivered at the point of need.

Our children are assessed against external national measures at the end of Reception and the end of Year 2. They also undertake a phonics screening test at the end of Year 1. Our children leave Denby at the end of Year 5 therefore end of KS2 data is collated by the schools they move on to for Year 6.
